Y Strainers
Y strainers fit inline like a check valve, their angled leg holding a perforated or mesh screen that catches weld beads, scale, sand and other debris ahead of pumps, control valves, meters and steam traps. Blowdown of the screen happens without removing the body from the line. The range covers bodies in carbon steel, CF8, CF8M, CF3M, cast iron, SS304 or SS316 with SS304 to SS316L screens, A105/F304/F316-class covers and A193 B7/B8/B8M bolting, DN25 to DN500 at Class 150 to Class 300, built to API 6D and ANSI B16.34 with ASME B16.25 ends and API 598 testing. Selection turns on line size and class, screen material versus the medium, and the particle load the service carries.
