Floating Ball Valves

Floating ball valves close on a simple principle: line pressure pushes the bored ball against the downstream seat, so tight shutoff comes without trunnion hardware. The range covers a cast floating series at DN15 to DN200, ANSI Class 150–600 with a PN16–PN100 metric equivalent, and -46°C to +200°C service, in full-bore and reduced-bore paths with RF, RTJ and butt-weld ends. Body, bonnet, ball and stem material grades, PTFE/RPTFE seats, fire-safe execution to API 607 and 6FA, and handle, gear, electric or pneumatic operation are all part of the specification. Selection turns on bore, seat material against line temperature and the actuation torque needed at the working pressure.

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Ask for the documentation set with the inquiry — typical items (material certificates, test reports to the listed inspection standard, dimensional drawings) are confirmed and supplied with the quotation.

Quotation

Send the medium, temperature, pressure, size and connection for a quotation-ready inquiry. Lead time, MOQ and price are confirmed at quotation, together with the documents to be supplied with the order.

Sample & supply

Supply terms, order quantities and lead time are agreed per order — state the destination country and required schedule with the inquiry.

Storage & shipping

Store valves with seats and seals protected from UV, ozone and deformation, and keep end-face protectors on until installation; storage limits and shipping arrangements for the selected materials are confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

What standards govern the design and testing of floating ball valves?

The published specification for this family lists API 6D, ASME B16.34, BS5351, API 608, MSS SP-72 as the design standards. Testing follows API 598, API 6D, MSS.

What sizes and pressure ratings are available for floating ball valves?

The published size range is DN15 to DN200, and the published pressure ratings are Class 150 to 600 (PN16 to PN100). Availability of a specific size and rating is confirmed at quotation.

What materials are floating ball valves available in?

The published specification lists body materials: WCB, CF8, CF8M, F304, F316, LF2, F22. Material availability for a specific size and rating is confirmed at quotation.

What working temperature range do floating ball valves cover?

The published working temperature range is -46°C to +200°C. For a medium at the edge of the range, confirm the suitability of the selected seat and body materials at quotation.

What end connections do floating ball valves support?

The published specification lists RF, RTJ, BW as the available end connections. The connection for a specific size is confirmed at quotation.

What should a quotation inquiry for floating ball valves include?

The governing standard and class, nominal size, body and seat materials, the service medium with temperature, and the destination — anything missing is confirmed during quotation.
