Cage-Guided Control Valves
Cage-guided control valves guide the plug inside a perforated cage that both centers the trim and acts as the flow-characterizing element, giving stable guidance, cavitation/noise control options and high allowable pressure drops — the workhorse trim style for demanding process service. The range covers DN40 to DN400 with rated Kv from 25 to 2560 (equal percentage) and 29 to 2816 (linear), nominal pressures PN 1.6/2.5/4.0/6.4/10.0 MPa, equal-percentage and linear inherent characteristics with rangeability R 50, leakage classes III and IV, diaphragm actuator strokes 25-100 mm with effective areas 400-1600 cm², and service temperature bands by bonnet type: standard to 220°C, cooling-type to 450°C, and cryogenic cast stainless construction down to -196°C. Body, bonnet and trim materials are WCB/WC6/CF8/CF8M with 304/316 and cobalt-chromium hardfacing alloy sleeves and plugs. Selection turns on the pressure drop and cavitation margin, the flow characteristic against the process gain, and the bonnet/temperature band.
